(May the Spirit of Peace Prevail over all the earth! God bless America and may it always work for peace and not war.)

Welcome to this site which is based on the life, dreams and writings of a Prophetic Dreamer. Her name is Ruth Hannah Chalfant. She was my wife's aunt. We called her "Ohme." She was born in 1897 and died in 1988. Her life was devoted to unselfish service to others. Her talents were many. She was an artist, writer and dreamer.

Her dreams were very special to both her and her family and her friends. Most of them brought messages of special meaning and purpose to many people. She recorded almost all of her dreams in over 50 years of diaries and journals. They have been preserved so she and others could verify them when the events she dreamed of came to pass.

One night, as she dreamed, she heard these words:

"There is a Speaker in the House of God. He speaks to a man-laden world."

Although she was a deeply spiritual person and participated in the activities of her church, she could not be classified as a traditional religionist. In fact, some people who did not understand that dreams are a part of almost all religions sometimes criticized her for having been given this gift and especially for sharing it with others. The rejection of those who should be understanding of this gift, deeply hurt her. Today, she would be sought out as an outstanding psychic, much like Edgar Cayce was in his time.

However, she kept on dreaming and listening to "the Speaker."

"He Loves Again"

You , John, Man of Patmos, caught the sound
Of voices telling of the joys to come,
You heard loud hallelujahs out beyond
Stern warnings telling of great tragedies
To men of earth who quite forgot their God.
Yours was a glorious tale by angels told;
And did those same angelic ones make plain
The wording of the letters you should send
To seven churches? I can find no man
Today who listens as you listened once.
But ever since the night you spoke to me
Of Him, the King of Kings, I seem to know
I have no choice but to reveal His News --
These were His words to me -- "I love again."

Her writings, and especially her poetry, were ways of putting the dreams into an acceptable form that even the youngest could understand. In 1976 she wrote and published a book entitled, "Letters to Piglet." In 1977 she added a second volume entitled, "Piglet Parables." Portions of these writings and some of her art are included in this web site. There are also photographs of "Ohme" from early childhood through older adulthood.

I believe that if you take the time to "listen" to what she has to say, you, too, will catch a glimpse of her gentle service and caring for others. You will come to love her as we, her family, love her.
Ohme's sister, Lois Chalfant Cunningham and her family, were loyal supporters of her calling and service. They were her encouragers and listeners to the messages she received and shared.
